~ Jen[1]

Jeremy Twitter The dynamics of how it exists on the ARK in the wild is unlike every other natural creature. More like a raid boss of sorts ;)
~ Jeremy[3]

The Titanosaur is a fairly peaceful creature. Even if approached by a survivor on a mount, Titanosaurus is content with roaming the land in search of food. However, their wandering nature causes them to easily deforest an area, which is a mixed blessing. So long as Titanosaurus is not attacked, it will not harm anybody. Yet if attacked, it will turn into a fearsome and deadly foe, even its weakest attacks cause phenomenal damage. Seemingly a "neutral party", Titanosaurus, in self-defense, will even kill other herbivores in the wild caught in its crossfire. It's best to keep track of the location of any nearby Titanosaurus, in case it needs to be redirected from settlements.

外観[ | ]

The gargantuan Titanosaurus is aptly named - nothing else on the island approaches it in size, and with its thick bony armor, even juveniles cannot be confused for other, smaller sauropods. Dwarfing even the largest Giganotosaurus (its only potential predator), it fears virtually nothing and goes wherever it wants, forcing smaller creatures to scatter at its approach. Due to their enormous dietary requirements, titanosaurs are almost always solitary, feeding around the clock to fuel their immense bodies.

NOTE - On official servers and by default on others, only 3 Titanosaurs can exist at once on The Island and Scorched Earth, and they can not be fed once tamed (unless you enable it in advanced settings), rendering them temporary tames.

Jen Twitter Cannons or catapult boulders to the head are the most efficient!
~ Jen about taming Titanosaur[5]

The Titanosaur isn't tamed with food or narcotics. To knock out the Titanosaur, you must attack its head with a Catapult TurretCatapult Turret, Ballista TurretBallista Turret (note: ballista bolts currently seem to not work, as there have been reports of players nearly killing the Titanosaurs they attempt to tame using them, before switching to a catapult turret instead), Rocket TurretRocket Turret (be extremely careful) or CannonCannon. It will gain torpor from this. When it becomes unconscious, you can access the inventory and place a saddle on it, which will instantly tame it. On official servers, the Titanosaur is a temporary tame and placing the saddle will start the countdown of 16–20 hours before it starves.

推奨の食料[ | ]

The Titanosaur cannot be fed on Official Servers. It can be fed on unofficial servers, but this requires using a launch command when starting the server: ?AllowRaidDinoFeeding=true. Unless this is toggled to true, the Titanosaur only needs the saddle to be tamed. No food is necessary once it is knocked out. One important thing to note about unofficial servers allowing the Titanosaur being fed is that they will NOT eat from a trough or even its own inventory by itself. You must remote use food from its inventory. Keep this in mind if you plan to have this behemoth in your base!

This list only applies if the aforementioned parameter is set on an unofficial server.

In Single Player you can add AllowRaidDinoFeeding=true in Steam\SteamApps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini at the end of [ServerSettings] Section.

On Ark Mobile in single player a Titanosaur lasts like any other tame!

気絶テイムの戦略[ | ]

Taming a Titanosaur is very hard and should only be attempted with the help of several tribe mates and Maybe a quetzal with cannons on its back.

  • Shooting Cannon Balls at its head is the best way to apply torpor. Other types of ammunition (Rockets, Boulders etc.) also work, but aren't as efficient. Be careful with how much damage you do and only aim for the head. It is recommended to have at least two people attacking the Titano's head at the same time.
  • When angered, the Titanosaur can destroy all nearby structures and animals that aren't GiganotosaurusGiganotosaurus in seconds. It is strongly advised to attack from on top of a Quetzalcoatlus equipped with a Platform Saddle to stay out of reach of the Titanosaurs attack.
  • The Titano makes a specific animation (and sound) when hit in the head AND torpor is applied, it is different from the default 'hurt' animation. This makes it easier for you to see if you're making progress or not.
  • You cannot under any circumstances trap a Titano for the purposes of taming. It will stop taking torpor damage if you attempt to exploit it by getting it stuck. The Titano must travel or it will stop taking torpor, so kite it for a bit and then try hitting it in the head again.
  • Once the Titanosaur reaches a high amount of torpor, it will begin to run from the players like most other creatures do when aggravated and at high torpor. This will commonly only allow you one shot with a cannon from the back of a Quetzal before you will need to let it calm down and then reposition the cannon.
  • It is recommended to bring another tribemate with a Magnifying Glass handy to watch the torpor, so you know when exactly it stops taking torpor.
  • It is recommended to bring parachutes in the event that the Titanosaur's body clips through your Quetzal's body, and knocks you off.
  • It is recommended to bring plenty of raw meat, as your Quetzal will most likely run out of stamina at least once during this endeavor.

Also be warned that since the Titanosaur is primarily used as a short term weapon of mass destruction, rival tribes that notice you are taming one will likely consider it an act of war and attempt to stop you. Be prepared to fend them off while also keeping track of the Titanosaur. It is recommended to enlist in the entire tribe so they can assist and help. Taming the creature is a struggle by itself, but enemy mounts can make it nearly impossible. Keep an eye out for enemy flying mounts, especially Quetzals mounted with rocket and machine gun turrets. These weapons can ruin the taming session and cause horrendous setbacks in terms of production of resources for the tribe. The enemy tribe may begin to tame the Titanosaur as well. Oftentimes, whichever side employs more players, the greater the victory. Additionally, whichever side claims the Titanosaur receives the in-game version of an "Ace Card," which spells doom for all tribes on the server.

A strategy that may help keeping the Titanosaur taming a secret from other tribes is having most of the tribe members attacking the base they want to destroy by use of harassment, buying time for the remaining tribe members to tame the Titanosaur. Tribe members can mix harassment and turret tanking to make the base overwhelmed to a point it is left defenseless to the Titanosaur attacks.

戦闘[ | ]

This section describes how to fight against the Titanosaur.

全般[ | ]

Don't try to fight one unless you are fully prepared with QuetzalQuetzal equipped with Turrets (Cannons and Ballistas), as well as high level dinos such as GiganotosaurusGiganotosaurus. Alternatively, you can use a single high level ManagarmrManagarmr.

A wild Titanosaur on its own is dangerous, but not nearly as dangerous as a tamed Titanosaur fully outfitted for war. The strategy adopted here will largely depend upon the design of the fortress and the armaments it possesses. Bear in mind that enemies will have numerous weapons, and possibly have multiple Beds inside for easy respawning should they be killed in combat. If possible, killing the riders and destroying their beds may be preferable to trying to kill the Titanosaur itself. Without a pilot, one can attempt to draw the Titanosaur away from one's own base. Be sure to take care of different enemy mounts. A tribe who has claimed the Titanosaur is more than capable to tame other creatures which will work in cahoots with the Titanosaur to eradicate the opposition.

戦略[ | ]

Use heavy weapons at long range, preferably turrets on platform saddles so that they can evade the Titanosaur. Dinosaurs that have been leveled up Health and Damage many times can defeat a Titanosaur but it is capable of fighting multiple high level GiganotosaurusGiganotosaurus depending on how much % their melee damage is. Breeding Giganotosaurus doubles their base health and imprint will give huge damage and armor buffs so this will also help. One hit from the Titanosaur will break most structures on a QuetzalQuetzal's back so it is advised to stay out of the Titanosaur's attack radius. Be wary when distancing the weaponry from the animal, as it is surprisingly fast given its size.

You can actually kill the Titanosaur with just 2 AllosaurusAllosaurus. Hit the Titanosaur with the strongest Allosaurus, and then run away. 1 hit from a pack leader Allosaurus will cause the Titanosaur to bleed for approximately 11500 damage. Just rinse and repeat over the space a few minutes and the Titanosaur will be pratically dead. Then shoot it with a Rocket Propelled GrenadeRocket Propelled Grenade to grant the full experience to your survivor, or continue finishing it off with the Allosaurus to grant it the experience, although be aware that if the Titanosaur dies from the Bleeding effect, it is possible no experience will be given at all. If one wishes to do the latter, it would be wise to have another tribemate watch the fight from a close distance while mounting a dino that needs to be leveled, as that mounted dino will also get a large chunk of the experience. This is a great way to level flyers. This strategy is especially useful in mobile due to the fact that there are no ManagarmrManagarmr and WyvernWyvern in the game to help shoot from a distance.

武器[ | ]

Titanosaurs are extremely difficult to kill, even with a GiganotosaurusGiganotosaurus (however, this does only work for WILD Titanosaurs. A tamed one will still probably die due to its Gnash Effect). However, a large tribe with a large amount of turrets could possibly take one on. With its massive health pool, however, only the strongest weapons and turrets will do any significant damage against it. Using other dinos is quite risky, as the Titanosaur will always tower over them. Titanosaurs hit for about 1550. A wild Titanosaur will rear up on its hind legs and stomp forward.

Titanosaurs can also be easily killed using a WyvernWyvern. Make sure it has many levels into stamina, then go to the bottom of the neck and use the breath attack. If you have a Poison WyvernPoison Wyvern, you can stay on a cliff and pelt it from above. Use most of your stamina, then retreat to a cliff where the Titanosaur cannot attack you. Go in for another attack, and repeat until it is dead.

The easiest method, however, is to use one or more high level ManagarmrManagarmrs. Simply blast the Titanosaur with ice breath until it's dead.

Meks are a great method in taking down a titanosaur due to their pistol doing ranged damage outside the titanosaur's attacks. With their agility and speed, meks can land a sword blow long before the titan can even damage the mek with its attacks. With at least 3 meks, the titanosaurs health is gone in seconds from the constant damage flow.

危険[ | ]

Capable of taking down even the largest of dinosaurs, even the mighty GiganotosaurusGiganotosaurus is no match for a Titanosaur. Smaller and weaker dinosaurs can be easily crushed underfoot, as well, just by walking over them. It is also able to destroy even TEK structures, so artificial pens are not viable. No force in the game can stop it from moving where it chooses to go.

弱点[ | ]

The Titanosaur is surprisingly hard to keep up with on foot, even though they are very large and are frequently assumed to be slow at first glance. Tamed Titanosaurs are also very susceptible to fall damage and drowning. The Titanosaur, despite its size, struggles to walk over large rocks.

A Titanosaur cannot attack while swimming, thus one could lure a wild one to deep ocean and ambush it with tamed PlesiosaurPlesiosaurs and MosasaurusMosasaurus in order to kill it with minimal cost for the experience (as long as it doesn't die to drowning first).

They can't attack things above them so it is easy to kill them with a Lightning WyvernLightning Wyvern. Make sure to take care of the Lightning Wyvern's stamina. If the stamina is at 1/4, fly away 50 meters, land, regen your stamina and return. Repeat this until the Titanosaur is dead.

The Titanosaur's attacks use up a huge amount of its stamina, around 200 stamina/attack. Once it runs out of stamina, it is like a sitting duck.

実用性[ | ]

Jen Twitter It would be near impossible to tame by yourself, but its larger purpose is for pvp use
~ Jen about Titanosaur uses[7]

役割[ | ]

The Titanosaur's primary purpose is to serve as a siege weapon for attacking enemy bases. Its massive platform saddle easily allows for the construction of a sizeable fortress filled with turrets and providing ample cover for attackers. Its massive health pool and its sheer dominance over smaller dinos means that it will not be easy for defenders to put down. Although a wild Giganotosaurus will not attack a wild or tamed Titanosaur it is not strong enough to take on a wild Giganotosaurus due to its applied gnashed debuff.

Base Destroyer

The Titanosaur is also one of three creatures capable of destroying metal structures and can smash Metal FoundationMetal Foundation in only 11 attacks, making them phenomenal at raiding bases to the ground (Note however that the dino will typically run out of stamina before they can completely destroy a metal building; but they're great at finishing off already weakened structures). Plant Species XPlant Species X is effectively worthless and it would take a significant number of Auto TurretAuto Turret to stand a chance at repelling a full health Titanosaur unscathed. The only sure way to defend against a Titanosaur's stomp attack is to build on a tall rock that's inaccessible without a flyer (e.g. the Volcano or the rock formation in the Southern Islets). Note that this still leaves you vulnerable to whatever weapons are mounted on the beast, especially if the rock is about the same height as the Titanosaur's back.

Mobile Base/Crafting Station

In single player, the titanosaur is a great way to help guarantee a safe transfer of massive loads of cargo from point A to point B. With its platform saddle being one of the biggest, an entire base can be built on its back if used smartly. The tek replicator, fabricator, smithy, refining forge and chemistry benches can all be placed on the saddle and since the titanosaur is extremely slow, players can spend the time getting back to their base on crafting their needed materials and building structures. This role is ill-advised for pvp.

  • If tribes have chatting parties, they can communicate over long distances with either chat or radio on what is needed back at the base. Several members can travel between the Titanosaur and their base to transport the materials or tames they have gathered back to base.
  • It can act as a mobile spawn point for a PvE tribe if they need to do cave runs instead of having to build beds at the cave entrance.
