Basic Info[]

Behavior[]

The brute tuso wanders aimlessly until anything comes close.

Appearance[]

Brute Tusoteuthis appear similar to the normal Tusoteuthis Tusoteuthis but are larger.

Color Scheme and Regions[]

This section displays the Brute Tusoteuthis's natural colors and regions. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Brute Tusoteuthis. The colored squares shown underneath each region's description are the colors that the Brute Tusoteuthis will randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural color scheme. Hover your cursor over a color to display its name and ID.

This information can be used to alter the Brute Tusoteuthis's regions by entering cheat SetTargetDinoColor <ColorRegion> <ColorID> in the cheat console. For instance, cheat SetTargetDinoColor 0 6 would color the Brute Tusoteuthis's "main body" magenta.

Wild Stats Level-up

Type in values of a wild creature to see on which stats it's emphasized. Green values on a high-level creature are very good for breeding. If you have already tamed your creature you can try to recover the breeding stats with an external tool.[1]

Brute Tusoteuthis

The stat-calculator does not work in the mobile-view, see here for alternatives: Apps

Note that after the creature is tamed it gets bonuses on some stats depending on the taming effectiveness. This makes it hard to retrieve the levels on a tamed creature, so this tool is only for wild ones, but gives a first impression, how well the stats are distributed.

Combat[]

This section describes how to fight against the Brute Tusoteuthis.

General[]

The Brute Tusoteuthis is located in the mission "Who Hide the Squid?" which is in the Ocean biome. It is basically a larger Tusoteuthis, therefore it is a fierce hunt target to face due to its high damage that covers a massive area. (More technical health numbers TBA.)

In the last phase of the hunt it is assisted by group of Electrophorus which can mitigate the damage output of your creatures and could turn the fight on its head.

Strategy[]

It is possible to mitigate a lot of the damage of the Brute Tusoteuthis by simply letting it grab one of your tames. While it has a creature grabbed it will not be doing mass AoE damage to your tames.

A pack of Megalodons, 9 or more, make quick work of this fight, though you will need to micro-manage them while you track the Tuso down. Their damage output and resistance are surprisingly high while packed together, and the bleed effect they cause is almost essential when fighting the alpha version.

Lower difficulties can be handled by a single well-raised Basilosaurus as it can not be grabbed and ignores the shocking effect of the Electrophorus, though its average damage output means this will be a very long fight, even with a very powerful Basilo.

As usual, large apex creatures such as the Mosasaurus and your own Tusoteuthis can handle this fight if you have a group of them, especially if they are imprinted and have quality saddles.

Weaponry[]

There's no real reason to not do this fight with tames; attempting to do this fight while swimming and with underwater weapons such as a Harpoon Launcher is absolute suicide. Stick to using the creatures listed above.

Dangers[]

The Tuso deals heavy AoE damage if it hasn't grabbed a tame, and whatever it's grabbed onto may not be able to fight back, making 1v1 scenarios against it extremely difficult in most cases. Also, the last phase with the Electrophorus can prolong the fight which may turn the tables against you.

Weakness[]

As mentioned above, it deals a lot less damage if it's grabbed onto something. It may also try to run away at low health and spew ink, which, as long as it isn't dealing damage, it isn't a danger.
