Overview[edit | edit source]

Cloth Hat is a Head-slot armor piece from the first tier of Armors, Cloth. It's low material cost makes it easy for beginners to craft, although the Engram Point cost is notable.

Aside from providing rudimentary protection, Cloth Hat (as well as the rest of the Cloth Armor set) is notable for reducing the effects of both Hot & Cold temperatures. This feature is unique to all the currently available Armor pieces.

Because of its temperature-negating properties and light weight, experienced players are recommended to carry a Cloth Hat in their inventory to switch out with their primary armor during extreme Heat and/or Cold. This is especially helpful during long excursions from the player's base, where otherwise the player would be devoid of temperature-controlling elements.

Like most items, Cloth Hat can be dyed different colors. Cloth Hat do not have different regions to color; once dyed, the whole item will match the color of the dye used.

Remember that dyed items require repair for continued use; newly crafted items come without any color.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Cloth hats are incredibly cheap to craft, especially for lower level players. They provide 1.2 XP meaning they are a good way for early players to level up. To level up to level 80 from only crafting cloth hats, you will need to have 3,075,000 fiber or craft 307,500 cloth hats, filling 25,625 storage boxes or 10,250 large storage boxes or 2,050 vaults.
