Players can become sick when infected with diseases. There are ways to cure these diseases with various methods and items, or at the most or least, prevent them from even happening.
Disease Prevention[]
- Investing attribute points in Fortitude will boost your natural immunity to Disease by a small percentage. While the data isn't available, the Patch Notes for v242.6 confirm that 90 Fortitude (or 45 level-ups in Fortitude at 2 points per level-up) will grant an 80% reduction in Disease chance.
- A Gas Mask will protect you from airborne contagions. (The gas mask will protect you from swamp fever)

- Curing yourself of Swamp Fever with the Lesser Antidote will award the "Cure-All" achievement.

- If the option "Prevent Disease" in advanced server/single player setting is checked, players will be immune to Swamp Fever, Mega Rabies and Lamprey Poison, but not Radiation Disease, as this one is considered as an environmental negative status.
- Players will have their disease cured upon respawn if "Non Permanent Disease" is checked.
