Overview[]
Earthquakes are an environmental aspect unique to Aberration, that cause the earth to shake every few moments and debris to fall down from above. They do no damage to survivors, dinos or structures.
Each tremor of the earthquake will move your survivor a small amount in a random direction. The amount that you are moved seems to get bigger and bigger as you descend deeper into the depths of Aberration. In the upper areas of the map the movement is almost imperceptible but as you go deeper into the map it becomes disruptive enough to make it difficult to mount a dino. These movements also seem to be amplified while swimming. Be careful when near the edge of a cliff or structure as these movements can be enough to knock you off the edge.
Another danger presented by these earthquakes is that of falling while climbing with the Climbing Picks. You can remain attached to a surface with the picks during the earthquake, but you will notice that with each tremor your survivor will shake. If you attempt to move with the picks during one of the tremors your picks will detach from the surface you are climbing and you will fall. It is possible to climb during the earthquake if you carefully time your movements between the tremors.
Earthquake Debris[]
During an Earthquake, debris will fall from up above dropping small amounts of certain resources. Each resource appears as a single unit which is unique to Aberration (so resources take on a single unit form for example a single rock or small bundle of wood), but when collecting debris a single item may actually give you 1 - 5 of the particular resource (this seems to be totally random). There also seems to be a very rare chance of good quality equipment falling.
The resources vary depending on the biome the player is in.
