Overview
The Southeast Trench is a location in the DLC: The Center that was added in PC patch 245.0.
The Southeast Trench is located in the south-eastern oceans just north of the Redwood Forests, east of Skull Island and south of the Southern Tropical Island. This is a very dangerous place to venture as visibility is near-zero and pitch-black. 
Anglers, 
Dunkleosteus, and the occasional 
Mosasaurus lurk in its dark depths. Two magnificent caverns lie at the bottom filled with luminous purple crystals are a rewarding sight for those few survivors brave enough to take the plunge.
Resource-wise, only 
Oil can be found at its seafloor, however 
Angler Gel is abundant here.
