The Metal Dinosaur Gateway is designed to house the Metal Dinosaur Gate. Together, they provide protection against the outside world and keep dinosaurs contained inside of an area.
Construction[]
A Metal Dinosaur Gateway can be placed directly on the ground, without the need of first placing a Fence/Standard foundation. While it does not snap-fit to foundations or pre-existing walls, it will snap to fence foundations.
A Gate can be placed in the hole and locked to provide a way to restrict access to the area while still allowing you and your dinosaurs a way through.
Incompatible Creatures[]
These creatures are too large to fit through a Metal Dinosaur Gateway.
- Basilosaurus
- Brontosaurus
- Diplodocus
- Dunkleosteus
- Gacha
- Giganotosaurus
- Mammoth
- Managarmr
- Megalodon
- Morellatops
- Mosasaurus
- Paraceratherium
- Plesiosaur
- Quetzal
- Rex
- Roll Rat
- Spino
- Titanosaur
- Wyvern
- Rock Elemental
The Managarmr and Morellatops can fit through this gateway if it is not equipped with a gate. This differs for the Dinosaur Gateway and Stone Dinosaur Gateway.
Notes/Trivia[]
- The Gateway is 4 Wall Panels high and 2 Wall Panels wide. It fits exactly into a 2x4 hole.
- Note that the Giganotosaurus cannot destroy nor walk over this gate, so it is somewhat cheap and proficient in giga-proofing your base if done correctly.
- The Metal Dinosaur Gateway is treated as a metal structure and can only be damaged by explosives, the Tek Rifle, Tek Saddles, a Titanosaur, Arthropluera, Corrupted Creatures, Enraged Creatures, Titans, Bosses, or the DodoRex.
The Metal Pillar and Metal Dinosaur Gateway share the same paint regions.
For more information on Paint Regions and how to use them, please view the Dye, Paintbrush, or Spray Painter pages.
