Overview[]

The Fresh Poultry is a Consumable in the Primitive+-DLC of ARK: Survival Evolved. It can be harvested from dead animals, just like Raw Meat Raw Meat, and is suitable for consumption, cooking, and feeding.

Usage[]

Cooking: Fresh Poultry can be cooked at a fire to create Cooked Poultry Cooked Poultry. Cooked Poultry replenishes more food and spoils much slower than Fresh Poultry and even slower than Cooked Meat Cooked Meat. It takes 5 seconds to cook Fresh Poultry in a Campfire.

Eating: Humans can eat Fresh Poultry to recover 20 points of food and 10 points of health.

Feeding: Fresh Poultry provides 100 food when eaten by a dino, making it well-suited for feeding baby Carnivores Carnivores. Normal Raw Meat Raw Meat provides 50 food, so you need twice the amount for feeding. However, Fresh Poultry spoils much faster and has a smaller stack size. Cooked Poultry Cooked Poultry lasts much longer and has higher stack size but provides only 50 food too.

Taming: Fresh Poultry, like Raw Meat Raw Meat, can also be used to tame carnivores. However, due to the double amount of food it provides, the taming takes twice as long. Hence, Fresh Poultry is not well suited for taming.

Gathering[]

Fresh Poultry can be harvested from dead Birds Birds like Raw Meat Raw Meat from most other corpses. Birds include Argentavis Argentavis, Dodo Dodo, Pelagornis Pelagornis, Quetzal Quetzal and Terror Bird Terror Bird.

Spoilage[]

Like other perishables, Fresh Poultry will spoil after a set amount of time, creating Spoiled Meat Spoiled Meat. Poultry spoils after 3 minutes in a player's inventory. This is much faster than Raw Meat Raw Meat which spoils in 10 minutes.

When stacked together, only one poultry from the stack will spoil at a time, and then reset the timer. If poultry stacked together has two different timers, the timer from the stack that is stacked on will be used. Splitting a stack of Fresh Poultry will leave the player with two stacks that each have the same timer. Players that require lots of Spoiled Meat Spoiled Meat may consider splitting a stack into several individual items in their inventory; this will cause all the Fresh Poultry pieces to spoil at the same time. Due to the lower spoiling time compared to Raw Meat Raw Meat, poultry is better suited for creating Spoiled Meat Spoiled Meat.

Notes[]

  • Although the ingame description says Don't eat raw!, players restore food and health when they eat it.
