Holcorobeus vitimensis is a large, flying beetle that inhabits the cliff-sides found across this ark. Despite their nature as a carnivore they do not exhibit any form of hostility towards other survivors or larger creatures. Regardless its best not to pick a fight with one of these goliaths as their exoskeleton is strong enough to resist even the strongest of artillery.

Domesticated

Holcorobeus is an essential companion for the elevation of this ark. Their ability to climb upon surfaces and fly proves to be one of the most efficient forms of travel. But they aren't just capable transporters, they also make great defensive strikers. Their able to impale the largest of creatures weakening to a point where others can tag along.

Behavior

Holcorobeus are found maneuvering around the sides of cliffs only leaving their location when provoked.

Holcorobeus has a tough shell that prevents any latching and stun effects.

Taming

The player must first agro the beetle and wait for it to charge at you. The charge is indicated when their wings begin to flutter followed by their head tilting down. The player must have the beetle charge into a solid surface which will immobilize it for a short time. During this time the wings will open up leaving the beetle vulnerable to attacks. You have to knock out the beetle with any conventional torpor weapon, before it gets back up.

Roles

Offensive Tank: Its damage reduction combined with its defense piercing ability makes it an ideal choice for taking on stronger creatures.

Transport: With an overly decent weight and the ability to fly short distances the Holcorobeus is a perfect means of transportation.

Boss Mount: The Holcorobeus ability to inflict a 10% residence decrease to any creature including boss creatures makes it a necessary mount for taking on bosses.
