Hands

Grasp, punch, and weakly defend yourself with the two survival essentials you were born with. Other tools are recommended to avoid tiring yourself quickly or getting hurt from punching trees.
Hands are mainly used to unequip any held items, but (especially early game) they can also be used to punch trees and dead bodies to harvest small amounts of materials or to deal a small amount of damage and torpor to enemies. They are probably the least useful tool in the game.
Notes
despite saying that hands are probably the least useful tool in the game, they can be used to gather fibre and berries, and no other tool can gather berries, meaning that until you have a tamed berry gatherer hands are a very useful tool
