The Snow Hare is a creature in Glacius.

Basic Info[]

Mod Glacius Snow Hare Snow Hare is a small creature found in snow areas of the Glacius. Those creatures cannot protect themselves from local area predators, but strong legs and small light body allow Hares to run very fast and escape in almost every situation.

However, the main threat for every Snow Hare is not other local creatures but human hunters looking for an easy way to tame big predators. Hare meat is extremely tasty and most of the creatures find it irresistible. Also, Hares are much more common than ovis, which makes them the main target for survivors without kibble.

Known Information

Hares are tamable creatures. Some people find their company very calming and comforting even though those creatures have no special abilities except for a cute appearance. However, it’s a common practice for survivors to keep a dozen of Snow Hares nearby in case of taming any predators.

Domesticated

The taming process is extremely easy because of the passive method. All survivor has to do is walk up to it and feed some carrots. The hardest part about the taming process is Snow Hares’ cowardly behavior. Do not get any closer than necessary for the prompt to appear, or Hare will get scared and run away. Some local predators might also disturb the taming process. The best tactic is to pick the Hare up using Argentavis and bring it to the safer zone.

Drops[]

Combat[]

This section describes how to fight against the Snow Hare.

General[]

Snow Hare is a small weak creature. Once attacked, it will attempt to flee. Strong legs are Hare’s best chance to survive, so the creature has good speed. If the player failed to kill its victim in one hit, expect a good chase. However, even the highest level Snow Hare barely has enough health to survive the attack of the armed survivors or fast dinosaur.

Strategy[]

The easiest way to kill any Snow Hare is to use a flyer like Argentavis. You can pick it up and hit it as many times as you need while the creature remains immobilized and has no ability to flee.

Weaponry[]

Any weapon can easily kill Snow Hare, but using melee weapons isn’t recommended since Hares’ speed are faster than survivor’s basic speed.

Dangers[]

Snow Hares by themselves do not pose a threat to the player, however other creatures, like local predators, are things to look out for. You can easily run into fight with Rex, Basilisk or Yutyrannus while trying to catch a Snow Hare.

Weakness[]

The Hare's primary weakness is its unwillingness to fight back, making it the easiest pray in the local area. Another weakness of this creature is its health since Snow Hare is very weak mammal.

Taming[]

Preferred Food[]

Wild Snow Hares eat Rockarrot Rockarrot only.

Taming Method[]

Snow Hares must be tamed non-violenty. Survivors have to place some amount of carrots in the last slot of the hotbar then slowly and carefully approach the Hare from behind and feed carrots one by one. It doesn’t take a lot of time for Snow Hares to be hungry again but be careful not to scare the Hare away coming too close.

Snow Hares spawn in dangerous areas, mind to check your surroundings. Careless players don’t survive for too long. The best taming method is to use a flyer to pick the Hare up and bring it to the safer zone.

Utility[]

Roles[]

Snow Hare is not the most helpful creature but many survivors prefer to keep them tamed.

Shoulder pet: Small size of the Hares allows them to become shoulder pets for their owners. Although they are not as useful as Jerboas or Otters, many survivors enjoy their company and cuteness.

Food Source: When harvested Snow Hare drops some amount of Raw Hare Meat which can be used as taming food for carnivores. It’s so much easier to use domesticated Hares as a meat Source than hunt for wild ones.

Raw Hare Meat can be used to create Cooked Hare Meat, an extremely beneficial food for survivors.
