Increasing[]
The following information applies to Humans.
Movement speed is expressed as a percentage, and its original value is 100%.
Leveling up movement speed will increase it by 1.5%. For example, the first time you level it up, it will go from 100% to 101.5% (except on Mobile, where it will go from 100% to 106%).
On Mobile, the first time movement speed is leveled up it will increase by 6%. The second time it will increase by 4%. From the third time onward, it will increase by 2%. If you level up a stat other than movement speed, movement speed will be increased by 0.1%.
Leveling up movement speed increases both your walking and sprinting speed. Points spent in Movement Speed also increase swimming speed by 1.2%. This benefit is cumulative with any swimming speed bonuses from your Oxygen stat.
Notes[]
- To calculate the absolute speed of a creature, look up its base speed, and multiply that by its Movement Speed factor.
- Amphibious creatures' movement speed only affects their speed on land, not in water. Level up
Oxygen(if applicable) to increase swimming speed instead.
- Both wild and tame creatures are unaffected by naturally boosted speed stats, although they do benefit from points put in to speed via leveling.
- Some attacks, such as a Spider's web attack or a Dilophosaur's poisonous spit, can slow you down.
- Eating
Focal Chili will temporarily increase your movement speed.
- After Patch 256, flying mounts are unable to have their movement speed increased. On Mobile, the movement speed of flying mounts can still be increased.
- After Patch 259, you gain 1.5% Movement Speed instead of 2% per skill point.
- Shadowmane's buff roar increases speed.
