Nida Akhtar is a Terran Federation Colony Ship soil scientist by profession and a simulation coder by passion. Throughout her whole life, she lived on the Colony Ship, and because of that, she yearns for many real things that she has experienced artificially such as a planet's ground and their sunrises and sunsets. However, her whole life is about to change when mysterious beings arrive on the Colony Ship from Arat Prime.
Background[]
As a child, she loathed doing timed tests of schematics of the Colony Ship and the system she is in. Before she joined to work as part of the Colony Ship, she took an engrammic aptitude test and the AI evaluated that she will be a soil scientist. Reluctantly, she admitted that she was good at doing the work and that she is passionate in making coding about randomized social events and social intelligence simulations.
Personality[]
Being a person who was deprived of a normal life, Nida reminisces of how people in Earth’s past got to enjoy many things such as making their own choices, experiencing real sunrises, following their dreams and feeling the dirt on their feet. Only through a simulation, can she experience these things. She yearns to do that one day in real life.
She tends to be a troublemaker as she gets lost in the ship on purpose as a child, gets called out on by her superior, Perri, and gets shamed for making simulations that actually ease the tension of the Colony Ship crew.
Relationships with Other Survivors[]
Helena/HLN-A
- The Transhuman that has entered the Genesis Simulation through Arat Prime, Nida was the first human to come into contact with them since the Terran Federation was on Earth.
- HLN-A gave Nida information about what is going on in the ship and that it is not responsible for the ship’s breakdown.
- Both characters are very familiar down to what their identity and what they do, as if they mirror each other.
Gabriel
- The first colonist she interacted with; Nida was curious about Gabriel’s background being a miner. She has learned from him the things he did out of choice.
- Nida began to lose trust in Gabriel as he wanted to be involved in the Colony Ship’s mission. She noticed that his orientation in Genesis was rushed, and that an irritable personality was the first survivor the Colony Ship summoned.
Edmund Rockwell
- The monster that has hijacked the Colony Ship, Nida first met him in the control room/ throne room. She was shouting at the top of her lungs in defiance against him, only to be silenced by the many faces that say the same thing.
- Edmund Rockwell demanded that she submit and help him give his Corrupted Survivors a consciousness, but she clearly refused.
- Nida is one of the few survivors and the first Colony Ship crew member to defy Rockwell’s will and survive.
The Player
- Although the player has never seen Nida, Nida left some things such as the Dodo wave in Survive the ARK mission, and a program for a sequence for ring separation for the player to do.
Appearance[]
Not much is known about her appearance, but she wears Terran Federation Exo Armor. Gabriel described her as a young girl and the Colony Ship Crew saw her as a kid, indicating her age to be in the range of a young woman from, but not too young to be an actual kid. She seems to have wavy hair and is rather beautiful.
Survival Skills[]
Nida is not quite a person who is labeled as a survivor until she became one. Throughout her notes, she was like a typical worker and Colony Ship crew member, but she had an occupation as a dirt scientist. Because an AI somehow accurately predicted what her career will be, her time on the Colony Ship is working on the dirt in the rings and with tek, she is able to monitor soil samples to make adjustments. She lives a double life that everyone on the Colony Ship knows about where she is a dirt scientist during work and a simulation coder in her free time. Even one of her simulations have been labeled as a Genesis: Part 2 mission: Survive the ARK. In that mission, the final wave is dubbed: Survive Nida’s secret, a wave that has zombie dodos and a Dodorex as the boss. HLN-A notes that the wave is really pushing the limits on realism and that the creator must have gotten too creative with the simulation.
In the time when Rockwell began to take over the ship, Nida employed a massive fleet of automation to keep the Eden ring clean of contamination. She was able to survive for a short time in the Corrupted Ring biome to get a sample and she is the first survivor to escape a Shadowmane. With various simulations related to combat, Nida proves capable of riding a Tek stryder like a battle mount and barely enduring the full might of Edmund Rockwell.
Known Tamed Creatures[]
- Tek Stryder
- Dodos!!!
- Zombie Dodos (VR)
- Dodorex (VR)
Tribal Affiliations[]
- Terran Federation Colony Ship (Soil Scientist/Simulation Coder)
Fate of Nida[]
Before facing Rockwell, Nida studied on the entire engineering plan for ring separation to pass the time and with a little push from Gabriel on charging into the Corrupted Ring, she must have been the person to program the ring separation sequence. However, Nida writes down in her earlier explorer notes that she wanted to hide in a secret location in the ship as a way to live a life for herself and that she can never picture herself risking the ring upon separation.
In the face of Edmund Rockwell, Nida was the first Colony Ship crew member to defy him and survive. She fled with the help of Gabriel’s dagger. After that, her fate is unknown but HLN-A noted a woman “survived almost long” enough to sequence the ring separation that is rather messy, indicating she is dead. She must have been the one to program the ring sequence during her time in hiding. Though considering how smart each Colony Ship crew member was and how they knew their way around the ship, Nida could have faked her death and went into hiding. Faking her death can make HLN-A and Rockwell think that the entire crew is dead. HLN-A noted in Genesis 2 Chronicles Genesis: Part 1 Notes that new connections of various people are appearing in the Genesis Simulation.
Overall, her fate is unknown after she fled from Rockwell.
Notes/Trivia[]
- Nida and Helena Walker have some alarming similarities.
- Both have an interest with Dodos.
- Both were the weakest person in their group when they were first introduced.
- Both had people sacrificing themselves for them.
- Helena has many people sacrificing themselves so she can survive.
- Rockwell gave her a reminder of the pursuit for knowledge unchecked.
- Mei Yin sacrificed her creatures to help her out with activating an obelisk, only to have them slaughtered by the New Legion.
- On Aberration, she and Diana helped Helena with getting used to Tek armor.
- On Extinction, Mei Yin took it upon herself to protect Helena from any danger.

- ARK Santiago used the only active Mek to lure away the Corrupted horde from the Tek tribe and in turn, Helena.
- Nida isn't any different.
- Most of the Colony Ship crew keep her back from joining the fight because she is needed to keep the Eden ring clean of contamination.
- To her, the deeper reason is that she is still a kid in their eyes.
- Later on, their reasons kept her from sharing their twisted fates of having their corpses hanging and scattered about the Corrupted Ring's entrances that was done by Rockwell's hand.
- Gabriel gave Nida his dagger to free herself and it allowed her to flee from Rockwell.

- She is a clone of her original self
- Nida
- Nida starts at tek tier and with ARK 2 being oriented around primitive technology and if she is alive, it would be fitting.
