The Remote Keypad is a tool used to mass control doors, chests, lamps, and other electrical items that can be manipulated with a PIN code.
Usage[]
If you have doors/chests/lamps set up and protected with a PIN code, you can enter that PIN on the Keypad and it will Open/Close, Unlock/Lock, Turn On/Turn Off all items that are protected via that PIN. This makes it easy to control lots of objects while typing in the PIN only once.
Example: All your Omnidirectional Lampposts in your base are protected by the same PIN (note: the PIN code must be four digits long). Instead of turning them all on by walking up to them and typing in the PIN for every Lamppost, you can simply access the keypad and hit ACTIVATE/OPEN in the radial menu, followed by the PIN code you set, to turn on every Lamppost. When you want to turn them off, you can select DEACTIVATE/CLOSE, type in the PIN, and all Lampposts will be turned off.[1]
Pin Coded Items
- Doors
- Chests
- Lamps
Notes[]
- The Keypad needs Electricity to work.
- Remote Keypads work across different electrical circuits. This means objects affected by the Keypad do not have to be connected to the same Generator. However, it has a range limit of a few hundred meters.
- Does not seem to work in conjunction with an elevator. You can use it to lock & unlock the elevator but you cannot elevate or lower the platform with the Remote Keypad.
- Remote Keypad will not control Electrical Generators to turn them On or Off.
Painting and Color Regions[]
The Remote Keypad is not currently paint-able, however this object may be re-mapped to include paint regions in a future update.
For more information on Paint Regions and how to use them, please view the Dye, Paintbrush, or Spray Painter pages.
