Wood is an easily obtainable resource in ARK: Survival Evolved that can be harvested from trees using tools, dinosaurs, or your bare hands, but is most efficiently harvested with a 
Chainsaw, 
Castoroides,
Gacha, 
Roll Rat, 
Thorny Dragon, and 
Therizinosaur. Wood is a very valuable resource due to its many uses and the high quantities of it required in crafting. It can be found in white, green and blue Supply Crates as well as in 
Giant Beaver Dam.
Every time Wood is consumed as a fuel source it creates 
Charcoal.
